Q: What is International Roaming?
Ans: It is a service that allows customers to use their lines to make calls, receive calls and send SMS outside their home country.

Q:  What is Interstandard Roaming (ISR)?
Ans: Interstandard Roaming is simply the ability to make and receive calls/SMS from a CDMA network unto a GSM network.

Ans: You can roam across the world in over 400 networks and 200 countries.

Q:  Can I use my existing 64k SIM to Roam Internationally?
Ans: No. You have to do a SIM swap from your existing 64k RUIM to the dual profile 128k roaming-compliant SIM.  This can be done in any Visafone shop and it comes with a one-off roaming activation fee of N2,000.

Q:  Can I Roam Internationally with a Visafone Handset?
Ans: Yes. You can roam with any of our dual mode handsets on over 400 GSM networks worldwide except in the Americas where you would need a quadband handset like blackberry.

Ans: Yes. You can put your dual profile SIM in any GSM handset and roam on over 400 GSM networks worldwide except in the Americas where you would need a quadband handset like blackberry.

Q:  Can I Roam Internationally with a dual mode ZTE CG 990 handset or other Visafone dual mode handsets?
Ans: Yes. But you need to insert your dual profile SIM in the GSM slot while on ISR. Once back in Nigeria, you should always ensure your dual profile SIM is put back in the CDMA slot.

Q:  Can I Roam Internationally with a dual mode Hisense CG3905 handset?
Ans: Yes. All you need to do is insert your dual profile SIM in slot one (universal) and manually select GSM while on Interstandard Roaming. You should leave it in slot one when back in the country but manually select CDMA as active SIM.

Q:  Now that my roaming line has been activated, can I start roaming?
Ans: For prepaid roaming, yes. For postpaid roaming, you can only start roaming 24 hours after completing necessary documentation and paying a cash security deposit of N50,000.

Q:  Why do I have to pay N50,000 Security deposit for Postpaid ISR?
Ans: Because your monthly billing would be on a postpaid basis and your monthly usage would be a credit limit of 45% of your security deposit.

Q:  Do I pay a Security deposit while on Prepaid Roaming?
Ans: No. You only need to recharge your line with adequate amount.

Q:  Can I check my account balance as a Postpaid Roamer while on ISR?

Ans: No. You would be required to increase your security deposit to make further calls.

Q:  How can I increase my Security Deposit?
Ans: Yes. You can increase your Security Deposit by crediting your postpaid account assigned to your number.

Q:  Can I recharge while on ISR on a prepaid plan?
Ans: Yes. You can recharge in any prepaid ISR country using *889*RCV PIN#.

Q:  Can I recharge while on ISR on a postpaid plan?
Ans: No. You can only request that the account assigned to your postpaid line should be credited.

Q:  What is the difference between Prepaid and Postpaid ISR?
Ans: The difference is that Postpaid plan has wider country coverage than a Prepaid plan

Q:  Do I get billed for receiving calls while Roaming?
Ans: Yes. But at a lesser amount than the cost of making calls.

Q:  Do I get billed for receiving SMS while Roaming?
Ans: No. You are only billed for sending SMS.

Q:  Do I get my total roaming bills immediately I come back?
Ans: No. Because of the unbilled amount which would reflect in the next month’s billing cycle, the balance from your roaming deposit would only be refunded after the subsequent month’s bill has been reconciled.
